South African Runner
Here's my two cents.

Not everyone's built
to be the best female 800m runner or best
female athlete, and I think being
biologically XY and androgen insensitive or
whatever, means that neither is she.

It
sounds morally unaccepting but as far as
sport goes she's male and at a disadvantage,
I say.

I do feel for her though - I can't
imagine how awful I'd feel if some one told
me I was a man!

A note to Cathy and
Jill;
If a caller is rather quiet then maybe
could you repeat what they say if it's
important? I didn't catch a fair few of the
answers people gave.

Was exciting to join
everyone live :) See you next time ladies!

Listening with headphones
Ladies, I work Thursday eves so listen to the
broadcasts later on my break. I am using
headphones and when you laugh really loud or
yell, it's deafening and squelchy. Is there a
way to clean up the audio? I know you're
doing it at home but maybe some kind of
muffle (like the furry thing Ann got cozy
with in the one episode of WHTSN.)

Gray
The discussion regarding Caster Semenya and
the MTF Trans women competing in athletic
events was very very interesting. I'm with
Jill, there are alot of gray areas here, but
I'm also black and white in my belief that
the way the case of Semenya was handled by
the IAAF was totally inappropriate and
violated her privacy rights as a human being.
Should she be allowed to compete? I think
so. Increased levels of testosterone while
making individuals more muscular, don't
necessarily account for better athletic
performance. I assume that there are men who
have more testosterone than other men, but
are not better athletes by virtue of an
increased level of that hormone. That being
said, the issue of MTF trans being allowed to
compete in women's events is a little more
iffy in my mind. I do disagree with the
premise that in competing for endorsements
they have an advantage. The media look for
types of athletes to promote their poducts, I
don't think a MTF trans is their archetype.
There is also the issue that they take
increased levels of female hormones to
transition and how does that affect their
overall muscularity etc... I have to think
more about that issue. I would like to see
further discussion of this, I think there are
parts of this issue that were not touched
upon.

As for the give away. How
outstanding was that? Shannon Wentworth, you
rock girl. Cathy and Jill I cannot express
enough my appreciation for what you do and
what you give back to the lesbian community
week in and week out with your vlogs, your
live feeds, your webseries and every other
thing that you do. Heartfelt thanks for it
all.
