Gay 'Idol' Feud Over: Clay Aiken Apologizes to Adam Lambert...sort of

Out gay and proud former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken apologized for getting got his bitch on in his blog and claiming that gay icon Adam Lambert's "Ring of Fire" made his "ears bleed," according to DListed.

"This year, I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing "Ring of Fire" and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him," Aiken blogged on Thursday.

But a firestorm of anti-Aiken comments around the Web, prompted Aiken to clarify his position on Lambert.  After writing that his opinion is just that Aiken wrote:

"That said, since my previous blog got dissected like a biology lab frog, I suppose I should clarify and even retract some of what I wrote. I am sure that some were upset by my choice of words describing my opinion of a performance I heard from Adam Lambert. I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard."

Since the more conservative Kris Allen beat out Lambert in the show's finale Wednesday Idol pundits have speculated wildly that the over-the-top Lambert --who's had pictures of him kissing men surface on the Web since Idol began -- lost to Allen based on homophobia.

Rather than stand by his speculated gay brethren, Aiken chose to go on at length about how Idol voters made the right choice in Allen, despite Lambert's vocal chops and popularity. He went on to say that Allen seemed more "likable" than Lambert.

Stick with no eye-make-up or little eye make-up
Adam was doing fine up to the TOP 3. His eye
make-up was still bearable like ROCK or GOTH
like looking. His best look is without or
very little eye make-up where he looks like a
handsome regular guy. Then when the top 2
was shown, Adam came out with very queer or
drag-looking eye make-up, not the usual
rocker or goth type one. Then at the last
showing, he came out with glitter eye make-up
which really made him look 100% gay and queer
and drag. I am sorry, during the top 2, I was
having second thoughts if Adam was fit to be
American Idol. What if he came out after idol
all dressed up like a drag queen with his
tongue out french kissing his band/stage
mates (male or female) like in the past
because he can be himself. That scared the
heck out of me. But I still voted 900+ times
for him with the knowledge that during the
top 2 performance, he really started to look
like a homo rather than a rocker with his eye
make-up.

Adam's 2 Part Concerts
If Adam were to have concerts, I would like
it to have 2 parts.
Part 1: No eye-make-up,
regular handsome, to-die-for, dreamy-looking
guy singing. Just keeping it real that there
is a real person behind the make-up.

Part
2: Glammed up goth or rocker where he can
bring the house down.

If he does only Part
2 (with the gay-looking eye make-up), then
that creates a scary image for me no matter
how good he sings. I want to see the real
person behind the make-up once in a while.
