Ellen Degeneres' Big Gay Insult: Simon Cowell's a 'Prima Donna'

Simon Cowell has learned to a very important life lesson. Don't f**k with a lesbian! Of course, this could all be fodder for a ratings' boost, but one Ms. Ellen Degeneres was none too pleased with American Idol's co-creator and resident egomaniac Simon when he turned up 90 minutes late for their first day of shooting, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Apparently Ellen took that 90 minutes to allow her anger to fester as she had rearranged her talk show schedule to accommodate Idol, and Simon couldn't be bothered to show up on time. By the time Simon dragged ass into the taping, Ellen had some choice gay insults to hurl at him, calling the cantankerous Brit a "prima donna."

Before Simon could dose Ellen's Coke cup with Valium to induce Paula Abdul-like results, Ellen was reportedly on the horn with Fox's alternative programming chief Mike Darnell telling him to "hurry up and pick" Simon's successor, as Cowell has stated he'll be leaving Idol to launch the American X Factor.

Still, there is this season to contend with and Ellen has reportedly already stated she plans to be the contrarian to Simon's nasty and often senseless comments he makes to hopeful songbirds.

"I think he's mean and I think he says things in an insensitive way and I don't think that's the way to get a point across," she told one interviewer. "I'm going to be brutally honest, in a kind way."
