Desperate Housewives or desperate for a ratings' boost? Either way, Wisteria Lane is going lez in March with a girl-on-cougar kiss featuring Dana Delany's Katherine and Julie Benz as Robin, the stripper with a master's degree.
ABC announced earlier this month that Benz -- who would not be returning to Dexter for another season for reasons apparent to anyone who watched the show's fourth season finale - would join the Housewives as Teri Hatcher's Susan's hot stripper gal pal.
While a stripper with a brain is a welcomed addition to just about any primetime drama, TV Guide Mag reports the happy news that Benz and Delany engage in a lip lock that will have Delany's Katherine reconsidering her sexuality. Now that had better be one hell of a kiss.
"Everyone assumed I was going to come in and break up someone's marriage, but there's a whole different twist," Benz says. "This kiss comes out of a funny moment where we're trying to ditch some guys."
The actress, who costarred as Darla the vampire on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, said of kissing her costar that she appreciated Delany's smelling "very pretty" and not having facial hair. She contended with hunky Michael C. Hall's five-o'clock shadow for four seasons on Dexter.
Beyond the standard girl-on-girl kiss a ratings' grab or a ruse to blow off annoying dudes, the kiss promises to inspire a lesbian arc for Delany.
