Oscar nominations 2010 were announced early Tuesday morning in Los Angeles and it looks as if Award season is officially underway.
The nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards came with a few shocks as Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker joins Avatar in leading the Academy Award pack with nine nods each.
The 2010 Oscar nominees for Best Actress are Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Gabourey Sidibe and the incomparable Meryl Streep, of course. Fans of Mariah Carey could feel betrayed when they find the singer was left off the list.
In a surprise, however, Best Supporting Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal was nominated for Crazy Heart, joining Penelope Cruz, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and Mo'Nique.
