No Surprise: NBC Cuts Lesbian Kiss between Kathy Griffin and Mariska Hargitay

With ABC making great strides with LGBT storylines in primetime shows like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, NBC is still lagging behind like a toddler.
Kathy Griffin made a highly anticipated appearance on NBC's Law & Order Special Victims Unit Wednesday night, but her lesbian kiss with Mariska Hargitay was axed. Shocker.
Although Griffin does kiss Christopher Maloney at the end, who is hot-for a guy of course-the episode had already been attracting attention for its lesbian smooch between Griffin and Hargitay. NBC apparently created a buzz and then a buzz kill by releasing the kissing clip in advance which peaked interest of viewers.
And to top it off, Hargitay's last line in the scene felt hazily homophobic.
Replacing the kissis an alternate take where Griffin tries to kiss Hargitay, but to no avail.
Another example of using Lesbians to get the
media and fans all hyped up then dissing us
by making it "ok" because she was a bisexual!
Tired of being used as a media ploy to get
ratings, sell cd's and books! Ain't cool and
I don't like it!
What nonsense! Viewing Olivia's bodylanguage
during that scene would make a kiss very
objectionable. Even more so than kissing
Elliot. I think they did the right thing in
cutting it. It would truly have been
disgusting to watch.
