The Daily Beast's power-packed Women in the World summit will showcase outstanding women leaders fighting sex trafficking, child marriage, rape as a weapon of war, and other challenges holding back women and girls. Features include Meryl Streep, Her Majesty Queen Rania, and activists from across the globe.

One of the workshops that is part of the Women in the World summit happening this weekend in New York City (March 12 - 14) will highlight the lives of two Chinese women, born at nearly the same historical moment, and the extremely opposite journeys they took. One of the women ended up in a labor camp before being an author in exile, the other became the CEO of Morgan Stanley China.

The discussion of women's lives in a nation in transition will be livestreamed on Saturday, March 13 at 2:45 PM, on The Daily Beast.

Wei Christianson has been listed as one of Fortune's "International Power 50" as well as The Wall Stree Journal's "50 Women to Watch" as being head of Morgan Stanley China. Anchee Min is quickly becoming a literary star in both fiction and nonfiction as the author of bestsellers Red Azalea and Becoming Madame Mao. Her work is usually autobiographical, and is known for its strong female leads.
