Christina Aguilera Not Herself as Lesbian in New Video

Christina Aguilera has dropped hints of just what's in her bag of tricks for her next music video "Not Myself Tonight," off her her album BIONIC. Throughout this week, Aguilera has released photos to build anticipation for the "surprises" her video holds. So far, the only thing revealed with these photos is that being platinum blonde does not make you Lady Gaga or Madonna.

First, let's look at what Aguilera released earlier this week...

On Monday, the photo was this:

According to Allie Is Wired, Aguilera was actually questioned last week about her thoughts on being compared to Lady Gaga, and she responded: “It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself. [When I was younger] I would have engaged, been a little upset [about the comparisons]. There’s a bigger picture out there. I’ve got my son, my family, my work.”

The bigger picture might just be her outfits looking too familiar - possibly due to the fact that Gaga rocked it last August.

Christina Ag...Can Hold Her Own.
I think Christina can hold her own without
trying to imitate Gaga or anyone else. She
has always pushed the envolope when it came
to her videos....and as for the similarities
in her videos and some other people videos, I
think is because alot of these artist use the
same directors and choreographers that
continue to take a little from alot of other
popular videos until they pretty much all
start to look the same anyway. People have
always tried to compare Christina to someone
else since she first came out...I remember
when she was know as the "BadGirl" of pop
when it was just her and Brittney a few years
ago. People had alot to say about her video
"Dirty" because of the shower scene with her
and a bunch of her female dancers....so this
wouldn't be the first so-called lez scene in
one of Christina's videos ["Stripped" 2002).
I for one am happy to see her back in the mix
of things.

too far to be compared with lady gaga
ms lady gaga is a woman with her own style
and ms.aguilera she made herself as christina
so both of them have an extra appeal as a
total performer its just ......healthy
competition is normal in music industry ....I
love them

Why do 'reporters' always want to create drama...
...where there is none! Are you trying to
tell me that Lady Gaga was the first ever to
wear a latex bra and skirt?!? Come
on...before Lady Gaga, artists were doing
kooky things...I've actually never seen
anything remarkably original in Lady Gaga's
videos until the last one with Beyonce - had
some interesting firsts. But please - as
someone else has already stated, Christina
has done the lez pretend scene, she's done
over the top sex, she's been blonde, she done
over the top drag-ness - even been criticized
for it in the past before...what short
memories you all have!! How about building
up both - you know its allowed, right?!?

Sarah...
Read the blogs all over the web. Everyone is
saying that. This is commentary on reporting.
You are uptight! Loosen up.

there might be similarites, but Christina has
that unique twist. Don't get me wrong, I love
Miss Gaga more then I could really express in
words [except for the fact that my wife is
sick of me listening to her and wonders if I
shouldn't just marry Gaga instead). However,
this video has not only proved that she can
run with the best of them, but also that
there is nothing special about taking a
vacation from the norm and being something
different for a change.

I love Lady Gaga but I've been gaga over
Christina since she hit the scene 10 years
ago. Her style has always been unique & is
always evolving. There both great artists so
maybe the comparisions are a good thing?

Originality is so 1987
Emulation seems to be the norm, rather than
the exception. Earlier this week I watched a
video which showed a number of outfits warn
by Christina over the years which Gaga later
incorporated into her stylings.
Originality in the fashions of artists is
almost laughable, given the commonality of
most everyone on the scene today. Body suits,
without benefit of pants, have made the
rounds and been worn by everyone from
Beyonce, Rihanna, Pink, Gaga, Nicki Minaj,
etc.

I'm far more disturbed by their use
of lesbian imagery to seem "edgy" and as a
marketing ploy than by similar leggings being
worn in a video.
