Summertime tends to offer a lot of free time, and free time. If you're anything like me, that free time is often spent at the movie theater. And what makes a movie enjoyable? A good, strong plot...just kidding! It's the super hot actresses, of course! Sure, big name actresses like Megan Fox and Jessica Biel are great and all, but there are also so many lesser (and oftentimes much more talented) women out there who deserve just as much exposure. So visit your local Blockbuster -- if it still exists -- or get on Netflix and check out these lovely ladies (and guy). But be warned, your summer's about to get much, much hotter.
1. The ladies of Legend of the Seeker
Chances are, you’ve never watched Legend of the Seeker. In fact, this fantasy show about swords, magic, underworld and all sorts of geeky pleasures just got cancelled by the CW due to lack of viewership (grrr) and tragically so. Not only is it the perfect fantasy fodder, but it also features three of the hottest women in television; Bridget Regan, Tabrett Bethell, and Emily Foxler. In the show, Bridget plays a “Confessor” who can turn any person into a doting slave with one magic look, Tabrett plays a bisexual former bad girl with a heart of gold and a one-piece red leather suit as her only costume, and Emily guests twice as a psychotic witch on a killing spree. Another perk? These three unbelievable actresses span the globe- Bridget’s American, Tabrett’s Australian, and Emily’s Swedish- and who doesn’t love a little variety? Legend may be a goner, but the first of two seasons are available now on DVD.

2. Karen Gillan
If you haven’t been watching the newest season of Doctor Who, you should know you are missing out on the stunning, hilarious, and adorably Scottish Karen Gillan as the Doctor’s newest companion Amy Pond. Known for her comic timing, stunning red hair, and incredibly short skirts, Amy’s quickly becoming one of the favorite companions to date, and consideringSecret Diary of a Call Girl’s Billie Piper was on for two seasons, this is an achievement to be proud of. A quick youtube search will bring up Karen’s days on The Kevin Bishop Show, which features her in several sketches, including a parody of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and my personal favorite, a skit in which Karen plays a lesbian bride. If only, if only...
