As the final days of 2008 near, and Top 10's are a favorite distraction from the holidays, we decided to join in the fun and put our own list together! Based on how we find their music, hotness, and video(s) - and of course, the over-all lady-audience interest, here are our Top Hotties in Music 2008.
Bonus vid from the past that we just still love: Peaches - Fuck The Pain Away
What a song! What a video! This lass bops out some outrageous beats, borderline cheeky lyrics and loops that never want to leave your head. While a bit of an oldie, it's still being remixed and plastered all over clubs from LA to Tokyo.
10. Robots in Disguise More than anything, these girls are just cool. They have completely awesome style and some wicked artistic flare visually musically.
9. Brazilian Girls Her voice is just sexy. We love the tribal beats, the trilingual lyrics, the energy that oozes sexiness. Marvelous! Marvelous! Marvelous! Unfortunately we can't embed the vid, so watch it here.
8. Santogold Best Album of 2008. This crazy bird totally has her own thing going on. A voice completely versatile, from sexy to discreet, laid over luscious beats to make a booty shake!
7. SoHo Dolls In love with these guys! They are great. Perfect show of a complete package with some damn awesome tunes. Not to mention Maya Von Doll can be found under the definition of gorgeous.
There is nothing quite like a chick who does the whole music thing. Sharleen Spiteri/Texas is a good one, too, but I don't think the sound is original, which means all the wow factor for me is gone. That is not to say they aren't good, though! Her first solo stuff did do well. What would really be awesome, in my opinion, is if Pauley Perrette and her band Lo-Ball from a few yeas back (like 6 years ago?) started up again. Mmhmm.
I hadn't heard of most of these songs and I'm always looking for new sounds. I had heard Pink's Sober and I have to say, that is one awesomely raw song. I have a huge, huge crush on Pink but then who doesn't??
