Letter 1:

Hi Cathy,

I have a girlfriend, and she's the first person I have ever dated. I'm really in love with her,but she abuses me. We have been dating for about a yr. and a half. She cheated on me with three people,one of the being her best friend. I ask her about why she did and she just becomes upset and says she doesn't know. When I ask her why not,she hits me. She says that she doesn't mean to. She just gets mad when I ask that,but now whenever I say something that makes her upset, she hits me. When we get into arguments about me going out anywhere (store, with family, or my suitmates to the movies) she hits me also.I tried leaving several times,but she says I don't care about her. If I do she'll kill herself. I don't want to hurt her, and I'm in love with her.

I don't know what to do. If I leave she'll kill herself. I can't tell my mom,because she doesn't know I have a gf. I can't tell my sister,because she doesn't understand; I'm scared of what my brother would do if he found out. I'm also scared,because she is the only person that love me and is my best friend. With out her I would be alone, and wouldn't be able to make it.

Letter 2:

Hey Cathy,

I'm going through the hardest time in my life right now, and I just need to talk to someone that isn't in my circle. I'm 25 years old, and lost. How do you forgive someone when it wasn't their fault?????? I'm having the hardest time answering this question.

My bestfriend of 20 some years, was in a car accident last week. She was hit by a drunk driver who was 17 years old. They took her to the hospital and since has been released. My 2 year old son, and 3 week old son were in the car with her...

Tomorrow I bury my children.

So, now how am I supposed to forgive her when it wasn't her fault?? When the only thing that comes to mind it that she was supposed to protect them!! damn it!! How do I go on without my children? How am I supposed to be friends again with someone that was involved in their death? How do I get everyone off my back to just leave me alone?? I just want to be left alone.

I have so many emotions going on, that I don't know what to do.... What am I supposed to do? People are telling me to go see a therapist, I'm not ready for that yet. They're trying to shove pills down my throut, so that I won't feel all this pain, I don't want to do that either. Suicide has crossed my mind serveral times. I know I won't ever do it... But it has crossed my mind.

I'm sorry to throw this all on you. I haven't slept much, and I really need an opinion. -V
