Deborah Vial has lived a colorful life. When the Dallas resident graduated college she spent years overseas performing for troops in Croatia, Macedonia, Iceland, Korea, Germany, and Finland to name a few. She's met NATO soldiers and marveled at men and women from utterly opposite worlds coming together for a common good, visited the Korean Demilitarized Zone, and walked the streets of Zagreb at the heels of the Croatian War for Independence with the threat of sniper fire hanging overhead.
"I have had more than my share of adventure while performing overseas," she says. "My respect for our military men and women is profound. We could not enjoy our collective life without them."
But upon returning to Dallas in 1996, she found that performing in the local bars wasn't that exciting any longer. "Britney Spears was climbing the charts with her disturbingly hairy Lolita act, and I could not find my place," she says.
Then, things changed. Vial got the opportunity to be an opening act at Lilith Fair in 1999, and this propelled her to leave her band and create her first solo CD. Soon she was opening for favorite artists like Concrete Blonde, Beth Hart, Ryan Adams, and Chicago.
She also met Caron Barrett, who owned a Dallas-based indie label called Last Beat. The two became partners in life and business, moved to Maui, and have continued producing albums (for themselves and others) ever since. Vial's work holds a solid rock vibe but with that lusciousness that can only come from a singer-songwriter; she's clearly living every word that comes onto the page and out of her mouth. It's full, rich, and passionate.
The latest album, Stages and Stones, was doing well in the indie music scene so Vial and Barrett decided to make a video from the single "Don't Make Me Take It." Enlisting openly gay director Israel Luna (Ticked-off Trannies with Knives), the video is a dark ode to obsession, both sexy and disturbing. Check it out and let us know what you think.

"Don't Make Me Take It"..is an amazing song / video and hauntingly beautiful. It is so good that the song stays with you.It pops up in my head randomly.I think Deborah Vial did an outstanding job acting and singing throughout..Isreal Luna also in my opinion is an incredible film maker. My only suprise is that Deborah Vial is not heard on main stream radio and huge stadium tours . Her voice is one of the best and unique I have ever heard and hopefully will hear it on all the stations and talk shows very soon. A big fan..
Great!
Great voice, great song. Hot video!
Blech
Crummy video- amatuerish and over the top in the not-s-good way. I can't tell if the song is good or not because the imagery is so silly. The singer looks ike she's winding down her career with a home video camera and a couple of cliches.

in my opinion
Assuming (after searching) this is a first professionally directed song video....I was disappointed. Vial's acting is good, but the video goes so over the top (eye make up almost dripping, fatally copying the light switch on/off from Fatal Attraction..please) too much for what appears to be a "one night hook-up" it portrays >30 gay women to be obsessive, jealous and revengeful...perpetuating the already exaggerated idea that gays are not mentally healthy and that according to Hollywood, they are usually the antagonist and are guilty of so heinous crime. Albeit, since sex & violence is a strange turn on....In an ALT ending, at least Deborah could remain the most beautiful in HER Debut and also easily choose a prettier woman to sleep with...& loose it over...Argh! Commendable acting Deborah, but you’re gorgeous..."ditch the witch" and show us some "real" chemistry. Oh...about the song.....it's AWESOME....it needs an ALT ending or a new video.
love.
love this song and the beautiful video. krystal and erica are gorgeous. deborah's vocal is haunting and she scares the sh*t out of me. i must say, though, that this is not my favorite song on the album. angel and laundry loads are so very gorgeous. this cd hasn't been out of my player since i got it. it also has the unmistakable presence of caron barrett all over it. "i am an angel, and i have been sent here to talk to you. i am prolific, and i am the one who would rescue you."

Deborah Vial Video
The "other lesbians" in the video are Erica Andrews and Krystal Summers. They are 2 of the stars in "Ticked Off Trannies w/ Knives" that is currently playing on Showtime. I applaud Deborah for involving other LGBT performers. And what about her voice....WOW!....Her best release yet!
Love this video
Love this song&video they released the video in AUG of this year!! I show the video once and fall in love with it. The song is apart of my daily shuffle mix! Deborah is awesome!!
Disturbed
It seems a lot like disturbed middle aged lesbians with too much time on their hands making videos. C-
