'Grey's Anatomy' Gay-Cap: Threesome? I Think Not

Calzona was back in full force during this week’s Grey's Anatomy. The episode entitled “Poker Face,” had our favorite couple, Callie and Arizona, in addition to the other dirty docs of Seattle Grace, finding any and all places to be alone. Conference room - check, break room – check! The only place that didn’t feature someone getting down and dirty was the OR.

Calzona was back in full force during this week’s Grey’s Anatomy. The episode entitled “Poker Face,” had our favorite couple, in addition to the other dirty docs of Seattle Grace, finding any and all places to be alone. Conference room - check, break room – check! The only place that didn’t feature someone getting down and dirty was the OR.

Seriously, it was like everyone was in heat and we, the viewers, LOVED it!

It all starts when we see Callie (Sara Ramirez) lying in bed with her eye mask on, and her wife Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) sits down next to her and leans in to wake her with a kiss. Now, this is the moment when Callie was probably thinking, “Bring it on!” I know as viewers, most of us were hoping to see it happen for the ladies.

Unfortunately, before Callie could even make a move, Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) jumps on the bed with a plate full of eggs and starts feeding Callie breakfast. Really Mark, are you kidding me?!?!

Callie then spends most of the episode fretting over her lack of ladylove and contemplating the difference between a food-gasm and an orgasm. During a pretty great scene in the OR between Callie and Cristina (Sandra Oh), Callie eloquently points out that she and wife Arizona have started “talking about food like it’s an orgasm when clearly it’s not. An orgasm is an orgasm.”

Now, since we last saw Calzona, they’ve been settling nicely into their roles as mothers, but their high stress jobs, coupled with their many co-parenting responsibilities with Sloan, has obviously taken a toll on their bedroom activities.

As a result of the close working quarters and parenting arrangement, Callie has found herself the third wheel in a quickly growing friendship between Arizona and Sloan. And she, as any of us would be, is jealous and frustrated!

Callie takes that frustration and puts 110% into her work. As a result, she pulls off a pretty difficult neck reconstruction surgery. You go girl, way to make it happen.

Later, Callie returns home carrying a pizza and beer, hoping to have a little post-surgery celebration with her wifey. Instead, she opens the door to a beautifully cooked dinner prepared by Arizona and her new bestie Sloan.

They’ve prepared a feast, but Callie is not having any of it. She picks up the pan, drops the goods into the trash and says, “Mark, I love you. I love how great you are with our daughter. I love that you and Arizona are friends, but you need to leave because tonight, I’m going to eat pizza and drink beer in bed with my wife and tell her all about the neck I’ve just built and then we’re going to have lots and lots of sex.”

And if that wasn’t classic enough, Callie goes on to say, “We’re great parents, but we’re more than just mommies and daddies. We are hot and we are sexy and your new hobby, the Hollandaise, the short ribs and the Coq au Vin, is getting in the way of our sex lives. So please start having sex again. But not tonight, because tonight you’re babysitting.”

Mark, looking all rejected responds with, “Can I at least have some pizza?” To which Callie grabs one pretty limp piece of pizza and hands it to him. Nice one Shonda, limp pizza for the sexually frustrated man-whore Mark Sloan, brilliant!

Love everything Callie does, but this week had to be some of the best dialogue the girl has thrown down. And what made it even better, was the look of surprise, happiness and excitement that Arizona was sporting behind Mark during Callie’s kicking him out of the house. You could tell that Arizona was completely turned on by her wife’s take-charge way of getting her in the sack.

They finish with a kiss and the rest is history.

Way to go girls, you make us all proud. And clearly excited…
