Gwyneth Paltrow Tells Harper's Bazaar She Envisioned Having a 'Cool, Butch Lesbian' Daughter
Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is Harper’s Bazaar’s latest cover girl. And when the lifestyle blogger for her site GOOP weighed in with Bazaar on her fashion choices throughout the years she admitted that even before her daughter Apple was born, she envisioned having a “cool, butch lesbian” daughter.
"I've been saving my clothes for her since before she was born. I was like, I'll bet you anything I'll have a daughter, and she'll be a really cool butch lesbian and be so above clothes,” Paltrow told Bazaar.
While Apple, 7, has yet to define her sexuality, she is not above fashion at all but indeed a bit of a clothes’ horse, according to Paltrow.
“I got a very clothes-obsessed child. So if she's a lesbian, she's a lipstick lesbian,” Paltrow explained. “She doesn't like anything avant-garde at all. She likes anything that's pretty, pretty, pretty or has a bow or a ruffle or is pink."
Paltrow went on to say that Apple approves of the pink taffeta Ralph Lauren gown she wore when she won the Oscar for Shakespeare in Love but that Apple would have hated her mom’s black, mesh-bodiced 2002 Oscar dress. “She would have hated the McQueen,” Paltrow said.
