Whoopi Goldberg to Guest on Glee as Thespian and NYADA Professor
Acting veteran and The View cohost Whoopi Goldberg has been tapped for a multi-episode guest arc on Fox’s wildly LGBT-inclusive Glee, according to TVLine.
An Oscar winner for Ghost, Goldberg was also nominated for her turn as Celie in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Alice Walker’s beloved novel The Color Purple, in which Celie falls in love with another woman.
Among a long line of big-named guest stars that has included Gwyneth Paltrow, Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan, Goldberg joins Glee as Carmen Tibideaux, theater veteran and professor at The New York Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYADA), where Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) are desperately hoping to be accepted. Goldberg’s professorial thespian will travel to Ohio to oversee Rachel's and Kurt's auditions and could be the person who informs them of their fate regarding acceptance to NYADA, according to TV Line.
Following what feels like a months-long hiatus for ardent Glee fans, the show returns April 10, with Goldberg making her first appearance May 1.
