North Carolina's Amendment One Passage Prompts Celebs to Tweet
As most everyone with a Facebook or Twitter account, computer, television, radio or newspaper has heard voters in North Carolina on Tuesday approved Amendment One, a far-reaching ban on same-sex marriage as well as other forms of relationship recognition for gay and lesbian couples.
Though a stinging loss, the measure's passage was largely expected, as polling in recent days showed a sizeable lead for amendment supporters. Still, it didn’t stop celebrities from taking to Twitter to express sadness and outrage. Here are few Tweets in response to Amendment One’s passage.
