12 Amazing Lesbian Sex Scenes in Movies-Watch

Earlier this week SF Gate compiled its list of Great Movie Sex Scenes (including a few girl/girl scenes), but that prompted us at SheWired to start thinking about sex in the movies only to realize we've, oddly, never done our own list of fave lesbian sex scenes on celluloid. Since it's spring, and a holiday weekend is right around the corner we figured we'd relive some of the hottest girl/girl sex scenes ever captured on the big screen.

Yes, there are plenty of the usual suspects but when a sex scene is just that good it doesn't matter how many times you watch it.

Bound (1996)

Starring Gina Gershon as Corky and Jennifer Tilly as Violet, this mob thriller serves up a heavy cocktail of sapphic sex and mafia intrigue. It went on to win the 1997 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding (wide-release) Film for co-writers and co-directors Andy and Lana Wachowski (Matrix Trilogy). And no small wonder since the chemistry between Gershon and Tilley is palpable. A modern classic for sure! 

Room in Rome (2010)

Rome stars international actresses Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In) as Alba and Natasha Yarovenko (Diary of a Nymphomaniac) as Natasha. The two beautiful strangers quickly become lovers, who eventually connect on a much deeper level, over the course of an intense and adventurous evening of sex in Alba’s hotel room. HOT!

Better than Chocolate (1999)

This Canadian import stars Karyn Dwyer as Maggie and Christina Cox as Kim, new girlfriends who are forced to deal with the normal stress that comes along with starting a new relationship, all while dealing with Maggie’s family and her own coming out issues. Dwyer and Cox are electric together.
