Watch: 'The Real L Word's' Romi and Rose on the Red Carpet at Women Who GLSEN
The Real L Word’s Romi Klinger and Rose Garcia, along with the Bachelor’s openly bisexual contestant Krisily Kennedy, were on hand for the Women Who GLSEN event in Malibu on August 5, and filmmakers Mary Jo Godges and Renee Sotile of Traipsing Thru Films caught up with them on the red carpet.
In the red carpet interview Romi and Rose explain that they hope that visibility helps kids to come out. Rose, who was a bit of a wild child on The Real L Word season one said that had she’d known she might be in a position to be a role model for kids that she would have “acted a lot better on TV.” “I would have been a better role model,” Garcia said.
The conversation turned to Romi’s current real-life storyline on the show in which she came out as bisexual. Romi said that she received flack from both sides when she came out as bisexual earlier this season.
Kennedy, of The Bachelor and Bachelor Pad, concurred with Romi’s sentiments saying that she faced scrutiny being openly bisexual on the shows.
“Being 32 and getting bullied is different from being in high school and getting bullied,” Kennedy said.
