Lindsay Lohan is reportedly still reeling from the overwhelmingly negative reviews of her new made for TV movie Liz and Dick, which premiered last night on Lifetime.

Lohan has been scrutinized by the press for years, becoming notorious for her public party antics and run-ins with the law. Still, she had hoped Liz and Dick, which tells the story of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, would catalyze a resurgence in her acting career. One insider told the Huffington Post, “She knew the script wasn't strong but thought she would bring the role of Elizabeth to life. This is particularly heartbreaking as her acting was the only thing in her life that she knew was real. Now she is doubting that, too.”

One aspect of her personal life that garnered a great deal of media attention, was her very public relationship with celebrity DJ Sam Ronson, which Lohan recently told Us Weekly was her “last serious relationship.” Lohan revisited the relationship in the interview, where she admits that her emotional strains most likely had a negative impact on the pair, who ended their relationship three years ago.
“I need to love myself first before I could be with anyone else, and I was going through a lot,” Lohan said. “Two toxic people cannot be together. End of story. We’re friends now. That’s how it started so I think that’s how it was meant to be.”

While filming Liz and Dick, however, the star appeared to be just as difficult on set as she had been in the past. During production, the actress was involved in a late night car accident and had paramedics sent to her hotel room, where she was suffering from exhaustion. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liz and Dick producer Larry A. Thompson said, "I've worked with actresses whose behavior during production was less problematic, but I don't think I could have found a better actress to have played Elizabeth Taylor at this time.”

When asked what it was like working with Li Lo on set, Thompson added, “making a movie with Lindsay Lohan is not for the faint of heart.”
