4) Army Wives Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

The Army Wives lesbian storyline featured a public kiss, one which would never have take place during the era of DADT. The kiss, between Army Captain Nicole (Kellie Martin) and her girlfriend Charlie (Ryan Michelle Bathe) happened at the public pick up spot when Nicole, and her fellow soldiers, returned home from active duty. Nicole, accustomed to hiding her sexuality, was hesitant to allow her relationship to go public and prior to the kiss, Charlie struggled with whether or not to join the other families, friends and loved ones in greeting their soldiers. But, in the end Charlie showed, they locked eyes with Charlie saying, “Don’t be mad.” Nicole surprised Charlie with her sweet reply of “come here,” and then Nicole leaned over and planted one on her girl. Awwwww!
