Four More Years! (Of Ellen DeGeneres)
The Emmy-award winning daytime talk show hosted by America's favorite out funny lady just secured a spot on NBC through 2017.
The Ellen Degeneres Show, currently celebrating its tenth season, was renewed for another four years, according to Deadline. Between the core NBC station group and other local networks, Deadline reports that DeGeneres will be on TV screens in 96% of the country.
A press release from NBC cites Ellen's continually climbing ratings, even as other daytime talk shows are seeing a decrease in viewership. Ellen is the number-one syndicated talk show for the 2012-13 season among women aged 25-54, according to the release. Ellen has also enjoyed a national ratings increase of 13% year-to-year.
"Ellen is quite simply the best," said Ken Werner, President of Warner Brothers Domestic Television distribution in the statement. "Day in and day out she and her team produce a unique and compelling hour of entertainment which is appointment television for legions of women. We are absolutely thrilled that NBC, Ellen, Warner Bros. and all of our station partners will be continuing our successful relationship for years to come."
So let out a cheer — or, perhaps a better option, bust out your dancing shoes — to celebrate four more years of Ellen!
