UConn Women's Basketball Team Poised to Beat UCLA Men's Record Winning Streak

The journey is almost over – or just beginning --  for the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team after an 81-50 victory over Ohio State Sunday in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden. With that win the UConn women tied the  UCLA's  men’s team for the most victories in a row at 88 games and counting. That’s a record that the UCLA men have held since 1994. And tonight, the UConn women are poised to break the tie and continue the streak in a game against Florida State. UConn Coach Geno Auriemma said he thinks there are who are rooting against his players because they are women.
