Watch: Newt Gingrich Says Everyone Opposes Rape, So 'Get Over It'

Responding to Indiana Senate candidate Richard Murdock's statements last week that pregnancy from rape was something "God intended," former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said that every candidate he knows opposes rape, so women should just "get over" being offended by politician's incompetent statements about their bodies.

Remember when Indiana Republican senate candidate Richard Mourdock said he doesn't support legal, safe abortion, even in the case of rape or incest? Last Tuesday, Mourdock became the latest GOP hopeful to jump on the anti-choice bandwagon, when he said in a debate that he doesn't believe in abortion for rape victims because, "even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."

Yeah. Well, former House Speaker and GOP Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich thinks all you whiny ladies offended by the statement should just "get over it." Because despite all evidence to the contrary, Gingrich says every candidate he knows opposes rape.

On Sunday's episode of ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Gingrich took Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter to task for not letting the Republicans get away with trampling all over women's rights.

"Every candidate I know, every decent American I know condemns rape," said Gingrich. "OK, so why can't people like Stephanie Cutter get over it?"

Maybe because when candidates have these totalitarian beliefs, they get translated into policies that infringe upon basic fundamental rights to make health care decisions for oneself. But we could be way off base here. Ladies? Watch the video below.
