After a historic night where Americans re-elected the first sitting president to support LGBT rights, elected the nation's first out gay Senator in Wisconsin's Tammy Baldwin, and for the first time in history, affirmed marriage equality at the ballot box while simultaneously saying "No" to constitutional discrimination, we're feeling all kinds of reasons to be elated and, well... Gay!

While we're still gloating (just a little) about the unexpectedly fantastic results from election night 2012, we thought we'd round up some of our favorite photos from election night across the country as ladies — gay, straight, queer, and everything in between — saw the results roll in. Often overcome by emotion, click through the following pages to see tears, cheers, and a whole bunch of people who love queers.

But first, let's remember what made this all possible: YOU. Thank you to everyone who voted, who made phone calls, who canvassed (like Jen, pictured below), and who turned out to make your voices heard!

This one just makes us all warm and fuzzy inside. Kind of like the president's speech, where he said, "I wouldn't be the man I am today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago." Just as a point of contrast, in his concession speech, GOP candidate Mitt Romney said marrying Ann was the "best decision I've ever made." How's that for relationship equity?
