We're just getting wind of a terrifying story out of Orlando, where a 25-year-old woman says she was raped by three men who believed she was gay.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified, told police she was leaving Orlando's Revolution Nightclub around midnight on Sunday morning when she stopped at an underpass to give a homeless person some spare change. That's when three unidentified white men reportedly stopped their car, two of them shoving her to the ground and ripping off her underwear, while the driver raped her. The victim told police her attackers hurled antigay slurs at her and that the driver said "I'll show you how a real man feels," as he assaulted her.
No outside media reports have confirmed whether or not the victim actually identifies as LGBT, but the Orlando police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
"They made statements indicating their desire to punish her for her sexual orientation," Sgt. Jim Young told WFTV.
The woman was unable to provide police with a full description of her attackers, but said the driver had short hair and was wearing a black T-shirt with khaki shorts, according to WFTV.
