Abby Wambach provided the only goal of the match, converting on a cross by Alex Morgan in the 25th minute of play.

The Olympics Opening Ceremonies on Friday charted Britain’s history beginning with the pastoral era through to the industrial age and on to the tech age and included a lesbian kiss between two characters on the television series Brookside that aired in 1994, which was shown as part of a montage of famous kisses during an homage to the modern phenomenon of cell phone hook-ups.

Distance swimmer and out lesbian Diana Nyad has launched a fundraising page to help support her in her Xtreme Dream as she attempts to swim from Cuba to Florida. The 2012 London Summer Olympics begins July 27th.
While we all know that homophobia in sports is the other "Don't Ask, Don't Tell, twenty-one openly LGBTQ athletes, two coaches and two gay paralympians will compete for the gold. Three LGBTQ olympians will represent the U.S. -Seimone Augustus (basketball), Megan Rapinoe (soccer), and Lisa Raymond (doubles tennis).

The US women’s national team started their quest for Olympic gold today in Glasgow, Scotland, squaring off against, and defeating France 4-2, in the opening round of the tourney.
France came out fighting and scored two quick goals, one in the 12th minute by Thiney and one in the 14th minute by Delie.

With a body full of tattoos and a devilish smirk, there's nothing about Natasha Kai that says she plays it safe. Kai was part of the 2008 gold medal winning team in Beijing, beating out Brazil. That year was her best scoring year on the national team, with her starting 20 out of 28 games, and leading the team with 15 goals.
